Graham Instone | Greenkeeper of the Year 2022We speak with Graham Instone (Dunnington BC, Yorkshire) after he scoops the Greenkeeper of the Year award at our second annual Awards! In the hotly-contested category – sponsored by Dennis and SISIS – Graham took the honours, largely for his innovative roadshows and sharing his knowledge with local clubs. He has been a member of his beloved Dunnington BC for over 40 years and has been looking after the green for the past 15 years.
European Open⚠️ 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯 𝗘𝗨𝗥𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗔𝗡 𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗡 – 𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗦 𝗡𝗢𝗪 𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗡! ⚠️ This is the second year of the European Open which is a pairs competition open to bowlers throughout the world. The European Open will be held at the National Centre for Bowling, Ayr on Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd July. Last year was a huge success with 120 pairs competing in the tournament and we are aiming for the same number of entries in 2023! Our annual National Championships also commence on Sunday 23rd July, so this is an ideal opportunity for anyone looking to compete on the greens at Northfield before the national finals get underway. 2023 World Bowls ChampionshipsAugust 29 - September 10, 2023 Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia Broadbeach, Helensvale, Musgrave, Paradise Point & Mudgeeraba Bowls Clubs. Queensland’s Gold Coast continues to entrench itself as the home of Bowls in Australia as the host city of the 2023 World Bowls Championships. Five Gold Coast clubs will host the two-week-long tournament, with more than 50 nations expected to take part in one of the pinnacle international events in the sport. Australia will be hoping to better their haul of five gold medals from eight disciplines from the last time the event was held down under, at the 2012 World Championships in Adelaide. The 2023 World Championships will feature both open disciplines (8) and para disciplines (3) for the first time ever. *players featured in this video have not yet been chosen by their Member Nation to compete at the 2023 World Bowls Championships.
